PHOENIX -- After about a week of below-average temperatures, the Valley is about to warm up. A ridge of high pressure to our west will slide inland, bringing lighter winds today but hotter afternoon temperatures.
Look for a high temperature of 99 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. Tomorrow, look for near-record temperatures peaking near 104 degrees. The record for tomorrow's date is 106 degrees and our average high for this time of year is 95 degrees.
This weekend will also be warm. Overnight lows will range from the mid 60s to los 70s around the Valley and afternoon highs will peak near 103 on Saturday and 101 on Sunday.
Clear skies and abundant sunshine can be expected across the state. The heat should ease up a bit as we head into next week.
