Grand Canyon University flag signing

In honor of military appreciation month, the Grand Canyon University is helping the USO in their attempt to break a Guinness World Record for "most signatures on a flag." This is part of the Every Moment Counts effort to rally Americans to create special moments for returning troops and their families. If more than 33,273 signatures are collected on the 80’x120’ flag, the official record will be broken (5’x6’ pieces of the border were shipped around the world for signing)!
Flag signing will be available at all of GCU’s locations, but will be on the main campus from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May, 15.

Other locations on Thursday, May 15:
Peoria campus – 8:30am-10:30am
Main campus – 11:00am-12:00pm (Vet Center)
27th Ave – 12:15pm-1:15pm

"Not One More Child Drowns"
Founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett, ISR is now the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. The ISR Self-Rescue instruction students receive is the product of over 45 years of research
Children 6-12 Months Old:
Generally speaking, children ages 6 months to 1 year learn the ISR Self-Rescue skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest and breathe. They learn to maintain this position until help arrives.
Children 1-6 Years
Will learn the full ISR Self-Rescue sequence of swimming until they need air, rotating onto the back to float, then rolling back over to continue swimming. ISR students are taught to repeat this sequence until they reach the safety of the steps, side of the pool, or the shoreline.
