Where to borrow yard tools and equipment for freePosted: Updated:
PEORIA, Ariz. -- 'Tis the season for yard work, but tools can be expensive to buy or rent. Did you know you can borrow tools for free from many municipalities?
3TV's Heidi Goitia checked out Peoria's Tool Lending Center, where they're loaded up with tons of new tools just waiting for you to "check-out" for free.
The TLC aims to assist homeowners, renters and neighborhood groups in undertaking landscaping projects, yard clean-ups, community rebuilding and other improvement projects.
It is like a library. A selection of tools or equipment can be borrowed by residents for a limited period of time at no charge. The goals of the program are to support homeownership and maintenance, to assist in the revitalization of neighborhoods and encourage beautification of property.
Equipment may be checked out on Thursdays between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Equipment must be returned the following Monday between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Proof of residency is required.
