Surprise police seek bank robbery suspect

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Surprise police are asking for the public's help to identify a bank robbery suspect.

Police said the U.S. Bank inside a Safeway store near Waddell and Litchfield roads was robbed shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.

The suspect handed a teller a small blue and white Harkins Theatres popcorn bag and verbally demanded money. The teller gave him a known quantity of cash along with a GPS tracker and he fled the bank.

Investigators believe the suspect also robbed the U.S. Bank at Camelback Road and 83rd Avenue on April 30.

The suspect is described as a white male, late 20s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds with a medium build, blond hair, blond mustache and slight acne scarring on his face. He was wearing a red Arizona Cardinals baseball hat, gray-framed sunglasses and all black clothing at the time of the robbery.
