PHOENIX -- No matter what body type you have, there are some tried-and-true tricks that can help you lose some unwanted pounds and get in shape.

On Monday's Good Morning Arizona, Dr. Oz shared some proven tips to help apple-, pear- or box-shaped bodies shed pounds.

One idea? He says apple-shaped women can have sugar, but only first thing in the morning. "And if those women could combine the sugar with 20 grams of protein, which we recommend anyway,  they could lose an average of 11 pounds over the three months of the trial." Dr. Mehmet Oz told Kaley O'Kelley on Monday's Good Morning Arizona. "It's a way of getting you past the cravings by giving you a hit of sugar in the morning, and you can still lose weight."

Dr. Oz also advises drinking wine out of a champagne flute, because it will have about half the calories or a regular wine glass.

Low-fat dairy, like two percent milk, can also help shrink the belly. "Cut out the skim milk; it doesn't work," he says. "In every trial, it's the low-fat dairy that works." You should also get organic milk, if you can afford it.
