Today, starting in the Maryvale Baptist Church parking lot at 5702 N. 35th Avenue
The W.A.V.E. Walk will be conducted. This event is being held in the neighborhood between the 
two drowning incidents of last week - which were a half mile and less than 24 hours 
apart.  Phoenix firefighters, city of Phoenix Aquatics staff, and 
volunteers will knock on doors and talk to area residents about drowning

A Peaceful Rally will happen today to express disappointment and frustration with the 
Nigerian Government concerning the 200+ young Nigeria Girls kidnapped 
from their school in North Eastern Nigeria. The Peaceful Rally is intended to send a 
message to the Nigerian government. An estimated 100+ Nigerian community and other Africans community members along with their friends within the Phoenix Metropolitan area are expected to stand in front of the Arizona State Capitol where a keynote speaker will render a speech.

Inspiration "Waggin"
PetSmart and a few furry friends hop aboard the first-ever Inspiration 
Waggin' bus and embark on a six-city tour in the United States and Canada.
While in Phoenix, the Inspiration Waggin will stop by Phoenix Children's 
Hospital to bring patients' parents, siblings and staff a much needed furry

Water/Waste-water development impact fees
Tempe City Council to meet today (May 12) on water/waste-water development impact fees
The Tempe City Council has set a 4 p.m. Special Meeting on Monday, May 12, to adopt 
water and waste-water development impact fees prior to the start of the fiscal year 2014-15 budget. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers, 31 E. Fifth St.
