PHOENIX -- Three people were displaced after a manufactured home caught fire Sunday afternoon, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Phoenix firefighters were called to an unknown fire near 31st Avenue and Van Buren Street about 2 p.m. When they arrived, they saw heavy fire coming from a manufactured home and spreading to others.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra said high winds and the homes being close together posed challenges to firefighters, but they attacked the blaze from different directions using multiple hoses and were able to contain most of the flames to one home.

Saavedra said two of the three homes involved were vacant, and no injuries were reported.

The fire department is assisting the people who were displaced.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and being investigated, Saavedra said.
