PHOENIX -- Temperatures are going to trend upward through Friday across the state of Arizona.

Then, another storm system passing mainly to the north of the state will cut off that warming trend, and even bring a few rain and snow showers to northern Arizona.

In the Valley, the weekend will feature highs in the 80s with breezy conditions, keeping temperatures for the most part below the norm.

By late next week, however, more typical mid-May weather returns with highs around 100 degrees in the deserts.
