LUKEVILLE, Ariz. -- A 61-year-old Glendale man was arrested Monday at the Port of Lukeville in connection with a failed drug-smuggling attempt, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

CBP officers referred John Walter Swanson for additional inspection of his recreational vehicle and found 27 bundles of marijuana hidden within the cabinetry.

The nearly 608 pounds of meth had an estimated value of $304,000.

The drugs and vehicle were processed for seizure.

Swanson was referred to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
