PHOENIX -- Phoenix firefighters saved a home from a debris fire Saturday afternoon.

About 2:15 p.m., the fire department received a 911 call about an unknown fire near 12th Street and Jones Avenue, north of Broadway Road.

While firefighters were en route, multiple 911 calls indicated a large area of debris was on fire and the blaze was threatening a nearby home, according to Phoenix Fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra.

He said firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading despite high winds.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

No injuries were reported.
