Man sought in 3 Tempe bank robberies

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Tempe police are searching for a man who robbed three banks in a week.

The first robbery was reported April 18 at Chase Bank on Southern Avenue near 48th Street. Two hours later, the same man robbed the Wells Fargo at Rural and Baseline roads, police said.

He struck the same Chase Bank on April 24.

He fled each bank on foot.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late teens to mid 20s with brown hair, brown eyes and a thin build. He is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 130 to 140 pounds. He wore different clothing each time.

The suspect has been dubbed the "Chase Me Bandit."

Detectives are actively investigating the robberies.
