Mesa police ask for public's help to identify homicide victim, suspects

MESA, Ariz. – Mesa police are asking for the public's help to identify a homicide victim and any suspects in the case.

Police said a Hispanic male was found lying on the sidewalk next to a bicycle in the area of Stapley Drive and Broadway Road at approximately 5:45 a.m. on March 27.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said there were obvious signs of trauma to the body.

Detectives have not been able to positively identify the victim.

Police spokesman Detective Steve Berry said any information, large or small, could be valuable in identifying the victim or suspects.

Anyone who was in the area in the early morning hours on March 27 and saw any suspicious activity or people is asked to call the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
