PHOENIX -- It's expected to be a warm start to the new week ahead. Look for a high of 96 degrees this afternoon under clear skies. Tonight, lows will dip to the 60s and low 70s around town under mostly clear skies.
Winds are expected to pick up tomorrow as a storm system moves on shore from the west. Any rain with this system will likely stay to the north of Arizona, but strong winds could generate some blowing dust. In the Valley, winds will be out of the southwest between 15 and 25 mph tomorrow afternoon.
We are under a Fire Weather Watch tomorrow afternoon through evening for dry and windy conditions. Most of the state is under either a Fire Weather Watch or Red Flag Warning tomorrow for dangerous fire conditions.
Winds calm down on Wednesday and afternoon temperatures will be a bit cooler, too, topping out in the upper 80s.
Temperatures will peak around 90 on Thursday and Friday before another windy and dry storm drops us to the low 80s next weekend.
