Phoenix weather: Stray shower possible Saturday, Easter Sunday heats up
By Christina O'Haver
PHOENIX -- A weak storm system tracking across southern Arizona Saturday will bring a slight chance of a stray shower or storm to the Valley during the afternoon hours.
The best chance for showers and storms will lie across the central and eastern portions of the state.
The severe weather threat is low, but any storms that may develop could kick out locally gusty winds.
In the Phoenix-metro area, look for afternoon clearing with a high of 87 degrees.
Easter Sunday sunrise services in the Valley will kick off with mostly clear skies and a morning low of around 65 degrees. Expect plentiful sunshine throughout the day with a high of 92.
A warming trend will continue across all of Arizona through Tuesday. In the Phoenix-metro area, look for highs in the mid 90s both Monday and Tuesday.
Winds will become breezy Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front that’s expected to track across Arizona. Rain will stay north of Arizona, but cooler air and a temperature tumble will usher in behind the front for Wednesday.
