PHOENIX (AP) -- A man accused in a hit-and-run accident that killed an 11-year-old Phoenix boy last May has been sentenced to a decade in prison.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 33-year-old Mabior Ding also was sentenced Friday to five years of supervised probation.
Ding originally pleaded not guilty in the case, but prosecutors say he entered into a plea agreement.
Ding was jailed on suspicion of manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
Family members say Enoc Quijada was walking with his mother in an apartment complex parking lot last May 25 when he was struck by a car backing out of a parking space.
Police say the driver helped pull the boy from under the SUV and left the scene. The boy later died at a hospital.
