PHOENIX -- The ridge of high pressure that has been bringing us unseasonably warm temperatures is peaking over Arizona.

On Thursday afternoon, the high at Sky Harbor as of 3:45 pm was 98 degrees. It's not a record but it's nearly 15 degrees above normal.

Friday will feature an abundance of high clouds across the state and temperatures will be down a couple of degrees.

Then a storm system off the Pacific will pass through Arizona on Saturday, dropping temps another 10 degrees or so and bringing a slight chance for showers to northern Arizona.

It will also be fairly breezy around the state on Saturday.

By the way, the average first 100-degree reading for Phoenix over the past 30 years is May 2. Last year we got to 100 on April 28.
