GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Goodwill of Central Arizona is hosting its Second Annual Career Expo on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the University of Phoenix Stadium.  Hundreds of companies with immediate hiring needs will be in attendance, along with over 5,000 qualified candidates.

"We're expecting over 250 employers," said Joe Tuerff, director, business services at Goodwill.  "Last year, over 6,000 candidates attended and many had on-site interviews. To get access to hundreds of companies with immediate hiring needs is unheard of. We're looking forward to another successful event!"

This year's Career Expo will feature a "First Impressions" area, set up inside the expo, where job seekers can come to receive interview clothes, accessories, and receive haircuts.

"The First Impressions area is free to all participants," said Tuerff.  "As the saying goes, you never get a second chance to make a first impression and we want all our job seekers to be confident in their appearance and presentation to potential employers."

Last year, Goodwill served 59,607 people and 23,506 jobs were found as a result.  In addition, 145,818 people visited a Career Center in 2012 for help with resume writing, interview preparation, computer skills, and other workshops.
