PHOENIX -- A great agricultural tradition in Arizona, the Maricopa County Fair, returns for a brief, but excitement-filled five days in April.

With a focus on celebrating youth and the agricultural traditions of our county, the Maricopa County Fair showcases nearly 4,000 entries, including animals, crafts and hobbies, home arts, photography, and culinary arts, each year.

This year's fair will exhibit an abundance of animals, most raised by kids 18 and younger, including beef and dairy cattle, meat goat, sheep, swine, dairy goat, pygmy goat, rabbit, pigeon, poultry, and cavy (guinea pigs.) In addition, Freckle Farms Petting Zoo, Farm Tours, Wild West Turkey Stampede, Rocket's K9 Comets Fido 500 Dog Races, and the Pollywood Bird Show will be on hand to delight fairgoers, all for the price of admission.

Familiar and fun fair entertainment will return, including magician Terry Godfrey, the music of George Johnson, comedy juggler Greg Frisbee, The Safety Magic Show, and NBA Half Time Star Skip Banks. SpongeBob SquarePants will make appearances to charm kids and adults alike, and traditional fair favorites like rides, games, and fabulous Fair food will also be on hand.

3TV's April Warnecke gave us a preview of all the fair fun.

The Maricopa County Fair is April 9-13 at the Arizona Exposition and State Fairgrounds, 1826 W. McDowell Road.
