PHOENIX -- Our first 90-degree day of the year is on tap for today, and the heat looks likely to stick around for a few days.
An unseasonably strong ridge of high pressure will warm the Valley up to about 94 degrees today. That's 11 degrees above normal for this time of year but 10 degrees shy of the record for today's date.
Tonight, lows will drop to the 60s before we warm it up even more tomorrow to about 96 degrees.
Thursday is likely to be our warmest day this week with a forecast high of 97 degrees.
High clouds can be expected Wednesday and Thursday for mostly sunny to partly sunny skies at times. Overnight lows will continue to drop to the 60s.
On Friday, the heat eases up just a bit as high pressure shifts east. Friday's temperatures will peak around 94 degrees before the 80s return for the weekend.
Next weekend looks breezy but dry.
