Driver sought in Peoria hit-and-run

PEORIA, Ariz. -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver who struck three pedestrians in Peoria and fled the scene.

About 10 p.m. Saturday, a pickup truck was traveling south on 115th Avenue near Happy Valley Road when it struck three people who were walking with their bicycles in the dirt area of the right shoulder, according to the Sheriff's Office.

All three pedestrians were evaluated by emergency responders, and one was airlifted to John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital.

The driver reportedly fled south.

The vehicle is believed to be a 2014 or 2015 Chevrolet or GMC half-ton pickup truck. The front right side of the truck was damaged in the collision.

The Sheriff's Office does not have a description of the driver.

The victims are Cam Nelson, her 6-year-old son, and Lance Taylor. Cam Nelson has life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.
