PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona anglers going fishing in the East Verde River may find an additional catch with any trout they get. The Arizona Game and Fish Department says it plans to tag some hatchery-raised trout before stocking them into the river this month. Game and Fish officials say the radio tags will help them study the movements and life span of stocked trout. The agency says anglers who catch any trout with external tags can release the fish or consume them. They are asking anyone who catches a tagged fish to call the number on the tag and share the ID number, the date it was caught as well as where. The agency says anglers may also return internal radio tags to any Game and Fish office.
