MESA, Ariz. -- A woman was injured trying to break up a fight between her two dogs at her Mesa home Friday night.

It occurred about 6:30 p.m. near Loop 202 and Southern Avenue.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Brandon Jones said one of the dogs bit the woman on her left wrist.

"The skin was intact but you could tell the bone was kind of crushed under it," neighbor Joshua Whearty said.

The dog that bit the woman was a Rottweiler and the other was a pit bull.

She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Jones said.

Neighbors said the woman has had the dogs for a while and they always seemed friendly.

Both dogs are reportedly contained at the home at her request.
