TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Tucson authorities say a cat woke up a sleeping man, alerting him to a fire in a mobile home and allowing the man and his wife to get out OK.

Fire Capt. Barrett Baker described the cat's actions early Friday morning as "aggressively meowing" in the face of the man.

On waking up, the man smelled smoke and realized there was a fire. He woke his wife, and they got out through a door close to the bedroom.

The wife then called 911, and responding firefighters put out the fire.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
