PHOENIX -- Temperatures will remain a couple degrees cooler than normal as a disturbance tracks into Arizona for the weekend.

Friday morning, temperatures in the Valley started off in the 40s and 50s. By noon, the Phoenix-metro area should see temperatures in the low and mid 70s, with an afternoon high of 79.

High clouds streaming in from the west will stick around most of the state Friday and into Saturday morning.

A cold front tracking across northern Arizona Saturday afternoon will bring showers and a few isolated thunderstorms to the high country through the evening hours. Otherwise, look for a mostly sunny afternoon in the Valley with a high around 78.

The front will be out of Arizona late Saturday night and a ridge of high pressure will build in behind it. This will kick off a big warm up across the entire state under mostly sunny skies. For Sunday, look for a high of around 83 in the Phoenix-metro area, with the upper 80s in the forecast for back to work Monday. By Tuesday, we’ll see the low 90s in the Valley, with temperatures peaking into the mid 90s by Wednesday.
