PHOENIX -- A ridge of high pressure builds into Arizona bringing unseasonably warm weather this weekend.

We expect a high around 86 degrees on Saturday for metro Phoenix with slightly cooler conditions on Sunday.

Sunday will also be a partly sunny day with rather breezy conditions at times. That’s because a storm system will be passing through the intermountain region, brushing our state.

Following that, a second storm midweek will bring more winds and much cooler temperatures but not much in the way of precipitation.

However, by Wednesday, highs may only be in the low 70s. That’s well below normal for this time of year.

Synopsis from the National Weather Service in Phoenix:

High pressure will build over the region through Saturday bringing mostly sunny skies, lighter winds and warmer temperatures.

Another low pressure system swings through the Great Basin and Northern Arizona Sunday for cooler temperatures and increased winds

A second more potent eastern pacific low will move over the intermountain west Tuesday and Wednesday next week keeping our weather much cooler and unsettled.
