PEORIA, Ariz. – Peoria police arrested a man and a woman on drug charges as part of an investigation into the sales of crystal meth.

Detectives served a search warrant at the homes of Michael Gardner, 55, and Colleen Boykin, 57, near 107th Avenue and Union Hills on Monday, according to police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto.

She said detectives found several ounces of crystal meth, marijuana, digital scales, other drug paraphernalia and a weapon.

Gardner and Boykin were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon with drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

"Over the past few months the Peoria Police Department has been working to better the community where these arrests were made through a grassroots effort," Jacinto said in a news release. "Officers have been working closely with residents to form positive relationships and help improve the area, not only through neighborhood clean-ups, but also through enforcement."
