PHEONIX -- Phoenix firefighters saved some furry friends from a burning home Monday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a house fire near 60th Avenue and Encanto Blvd.

Multiple reports from neighbors and Phoenix Police Officers on scene indicated that there were children possibly trapped inside the house.

Firefighters arrived on scene less than four minutes after dispatch and quickly searched the residence. The house was clear of any human occupants, but firefighters did successfully pull some puppies out of the house.

It appears that the puppies sustained no injuries. The majority of the fire was isolated to the attic. No firefighters were injured.
