PHOENIX -- A ridge of high pressure will keep skies mostly clear and temperatures warmer than normal for this time of year as we move into the weekend.

Meanwhile, a weak disturbance tracking through central California and Nevada is not expected to have any effects on conditions in the Valley. Extreme northern Arizona could see increasing clouds and a stray shower Saturday afternoon.

Friday morning, cloud cover cleared out of the Valley and temperatures quickly fell into the upper 40s and low 50s. Sunny skies and light winds are expected throughout the day. In the Phoenix-metro area, look for a high of 83.

Winds in the high country will be breezy during the afternoon hours both Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, look for highs ranging from the upper 50s to low 70s.

For Saturday and Sunday, little change is expected in the Valley with the exception of some occasional high clouds tracking through the area. Expect highs to remain in the low 80s.

The quiet weather streak continues into at least the first half next week. Temperatures are expected to peak on Tuesday in the Phoenix-metro area at around 87.
