TEMPE, Ariz. -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the U.S. 60 during the evening rush hour Wednesday.

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Officer Carrick Cook said two other cars were involved in the crash, which happened about 4 p.m.

The motorcyclist apparently struck a car and was then run over, Cook said.

The crash closed three of the eastbound lanes on the U.S. 60 at McClintock Drive, one of which was the HOV lane.

Shortly before 7 p.m., ADOT announced that all eastbound lanes had reopened.
