PHOENIX -- Police are investigating the death of a man who collapsed at a stranger's front door overnight.

According to investigators, a Hispanic man in his 30s knocked on the door of a home in the neighborhood of 63rd Avenue and Osborn Road in West Phoenix at about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday. The man told the residents he had been shot. He then lost consciousness, collapsing as the residents opened the door.

Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives have been on the scene all morning, but they have very little information about the victim and what happened to him.

Neighbors to whom 3TV spoke said they did not see or hear anything unusual before the victim showed up at the house.
