PHOENIX -- As a weak storm system tracks out of Arizona, high pressure and a dry front will bring warm temperatures and gusty winds this weekend.

Friday morning, sprinkles were found in the Valley, but it wasn’t enough to measure. Even with periods of clouds, Sky Harbor International Airport reported an afternoon high of 80 degrees. The normal high for this date is 76 degrees.

Showers across the state were expected to dissipate Friday evening. Skies will clear out during the overnight hours.

High pressure builds into the state from the west on Saturday, kicking off a quick warm up. Meanwhile, a dry front diving south into the state will kick up wind speeds.

Phoenix should see a morning low of 54 degrees with an afternoon high to 85 degrees. Winds will rise to speeds of around 20 mph. Along the Colorado River Valley, winds will increase to speeds of 45 mph.

Winds are expected to decrease Sunday, and temperatures will drop a couple degrees with the passage of the front. Phoenix is expected to see an afternoon high of 83 degrees.

The 80s will stick around next week as high pressure strengthens over the region. Temperatures will peak Monday in the Valley to a high of 87 degrees.
