PHOENIX -- Turf Paradise, which is known for live horse racing, is going to the dogs this weekend. And it's all for a good cause.

On Saturday, March 15, from noon to 5:00 p.m., wiener dogs will race to raise money for the Arizona Adopt-a-Greyhound organization. Dozens of owners will be on hand for what’s being called ‘Wiener Mania,’ along with live horse racing.

But you can't bet on the dogs! "The horse races, you can bet on," says Vince Francia of Turf Paradise. "The wiener dog races, you can cheer!"

Turf Paradise will feature $2 hot dogs and $2 beers as well.

“We're with Arizona Adopt-a-Greyhound, and all these wiener races, and "Wiener Mania" supports the organization. It's our 18th annual event,” said Bill Young.

The party continues on Monday, March 17, when admission is free into the grandstand and corned beef and cabbage will be served at the clubhouse and turf club.

Turf Paradise is located at 1501 W. Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85023. For more information visit  www.turfparadise.com.
