CBP: 360 rounds of ammo found in teen's backpack at border

DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- Authorities say they seized hundreds of rounds of ammunition from a teen at the Arizona-Mexico border Wednesday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Port of Douglas were conducting routine outbound operations when they selected a local 17-year-old for further inspection.

The teen allegedly had a backpack containing 360 rounds of ammunition of a caliber often used in assault weapons.

The teen was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforecment's Homeland Security Investigations and the ammunition was seized.
