Phoenix weather: Storm moves through ArizonaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A storm system pushes through Arizona Thursday and Friday, bringing cloudy skies, stronger winds and a chance of rain and thunderstorms.
The Valley will likely stay dry, although there is a slight chance for light rain tonight and tomorrow. There is a better chance for scattered showers today and tomorrow in the high country, including the possibility for some high elevation snow. Accumulation is expected to be light.
There is also a chance of thunderstorms in the high country, with thunder, lightning and small hail possible.
In the Valley, we may see some virga or a few light showers tonight and into tomorrow morning, but today look for mostly cloudy skies and a high of 82 degrees.
Winds are expected to pick up a bit and should be between 10 and 15 mph in the Valley.
This morning's haze was thanks to some dust in the air, but slightly stronger winds today should help to clear some of that out.
Temperatures will be a bit cooler tomorrow, topping out in the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies by the afternoon.
Afternoon highs rebound to the low 80s under sunny skies over the weekend, and mid-80s and more dry weather are likely for the start of next week.
