PHOENIX -- Goodwill of Central Arizona will host its second annual career expo April 10.

More than 250 companies with immediate hiring needs are expected to attend the expo along with at least 5,000 job seekers, according to Director of Business Services Joe Tuerff. Last year, 6,000 candidates attended the expo.

The available jobs will span many industries including business and technology, skilled trades, retail, health care and customer service.

This year's expo will feature a "First Impressions" area, where job seekers can borrow interview clothes and accessories and receive haircuts at no cost.

"As the saying goes, 'You never get a second chance to make a first impression,' and we want all our job seekers to be confident in their appearance and presentation to potential employers," Tuerff said in a statement.

Participating companies will receive a booth, lunch for two staff members, and the their name in promotional materials. Registration is $400 and the deadline is March 24.

The expo will be held at University of Phoenix Stadium from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Goodwill of Central Arizona said it secured more than 23,506 employment opportunities for job seekers in 2013.

In 2012, 145,818 visited a Goodwill Career Center for workshops including resume writing, interview preparation and computer skills.
