Allegiant restores direct flights between Valley, Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Allegiant Air announced Tuesday it will restore nonstop flights between Colorado Springs and the greater Phoenix area.

The Las Vegas-based airline said in a press release that Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport will begin offering direct flights twice a week to Colorado Springs Airport starting May 15. The airline previously offered flights between the two airports from 2010 to 2012.

Customers can get an introductory one-way fare of $49 if they purchase tickets before March 11 for any travel up to Sept. 1.
