COOLIDGE, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a Coolidge city employee is in custody for allegedly molesting the daughter of a family friend for the past decade.

Pinal County Sheriff's officials say the unidentified woman now is 19 years old.

She says 51-year-old Luis Ramirez allegedly began sexually assaulting her when she was 9.

The woman says she never told anyone because she didn't feel that anyone would believe her.

Sheriff's officials say Ramirez is the civil engineering inspector in Coolidge's public works department.

They say the Florence resident was arrested Thursday and booked into jail on suspicion of child molestation, sexual abuse and sexual conduct with a minor.

Authorities didn't immediately know Friday if Ramirez has a lawyer yet.
