PHOENIX -- A car was found in a Phoenix canal early Sunday morning.

It occurred at 23rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

Firefighters responded and although no one appeared to be inside the partially submerged sedan, they conducted a rescue.

A firefighter strapped in a harness and wearing a helmet climbed down a ladder into the canal and waded through the water. He broke open a window and searched the car. No one was inside.
