BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- A man wanted by Ohio authorities was arrested in Buckeye Wednesday after barricading himself inside a home, according to police.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., a Buckeye police officer was dispatched to the area of 193rd Drive and Jefferson Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

The officer contacted 53-year-old Samuel Culver, who told the officer he would go inside the home and get the owner of the vehicle.

A records check revealed Culver had two felony warrants for alleged armed robbery in Ohio and was considered armed and dangerous.

Police said the officer tried to get Culver to come back outside but he refused. Other occupants of the home advised police that the man had access to weapons.

The Buckeye Police Department's SWAT team responded and began negotiating with Culver. SWAT officers eventually entered the home and found the man in the attic.

Police said Culver was transported to the Fourth Avenue Jail for booking and will be extradited to Ohio.

No injuries were reported.
