Chlorine leak in north Scottsdale; hazmat crews called to scene

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Hazardous materials crews were called out to a reported chlorine leak in north Scottsdale Tuesday night.

The first-alarm call came shortly before 10 p.m. near Hayden and Deer Valley roads.

The initial call was a report of a strange odor near the water treatment plant north of the Loop 101 and Pima Road.

Crews from Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe worked together to isolate the problem and determine any other needs.

No injuries were reported. No evacuations were planned.
