TEMPE, Ariz. -- Accusations of sexual assault against former NFL star Darren Sharper are coming into focus with Tempe police releasing 40 pages of documents detailing what the alleged victims are claiming.

Meanwhile, a shocking revelation emerged that the retired New Orleans Saints safety once spoke out publicly, denouncing violence against women.
USA Today reported that Sharper cited his daughter as the inspiration for an essay he wrote in a book titled "NFL Dads Dedicated to Daughters."
In the 2010 book Sharper reportedly wrote:
"My daughter makes (me) mindful of how women are treated, undervalued and exploited, which is why I felt compelled to take advantage of this opportunity to speak up about domestic violence."
Tempe police on Tuesday released 40 pages detailing the rape accusations against Sharper from the viewpoint of his alleged victims and one witness. The police report said Sharper drugged a female friend he was visiting, her roommate and another woman with prescription sedatives slipped into their drinks.
The roommate told police she saw Sharper having sex with a woman she knew had passed out, completely incoherent, on the couch earlier in the night.
The friend Sharper was visiting told police she woke up the next morning and also felt like she’d had sex, but didn't remember actually having sex.
The report said Sharper’s friend confronted him, asking if he’d had sex with her and the other girl.
According to the report, Sharper said, "I don't really remember, I guess I could have done that.  I'm really sorry."
Tempe police are waiting to file formal charges against Sharper pending DNA results as part of the investigation. However, Sharper’s legal troubles in Tempe are just the tip of the iceberg.
Sharper was charged with two counts of rape in Los Angeles last week and faces similar investigations in Nevada and Louisiana.
