Injured hiker rescued from Camelback Mountain

PHOENIX – An injured hiker was rescued from Camelback Mountain Friday morning.

According to scanner reports, the 42-year-old man was hiking Echo Canyon when he fell and injured himself.

The man was about three-quarters of the way up the trail.

An off-duty Mesa firefighter who was nearby helped the man and fire crews responded to the scene.

A helicopter was called in to bring the man down from the mountain.
