PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public’s help in searching for a person of interest in a sexual assault case.

Police said an armed suspect sexually assaulted a 27-year-old woman at 3:15 a.m. Sunday after breaking into a home on the 3600 block of West Krall Street.

The woman’s boyfriend was in bed with her at the time and fought the suspect, but the suspect managed to flee.

Police Sgt. Darren Burch said the suspect intended to steal things from the home, but police do not believe anything was taken.

Police used DNA evidence from the home to identify Conrado Lopez-Moreno, 28, as a person of interest in the case, Burch said, adding that the victim and her boyfriend do not know him.
