3 Pedestrians hit by car near new Mormon temple

GILBERT, Ariz. -- Three pedestrians were hit by a car while standing near the new Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilbert.

Authorities said the pedestrians were standing on the northeast corner of Pecos and Greenfield roads. They were struck after two cars collided in the intersection.

The pedestrians were transported to a hospital. Their conditions were not available Sunday morning.

The cause of the collision was still under investigation Sunday.
