Police investigate homicide at Phoenix home

PHOENIX -- Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found suffering from trauma inside a Phoenix home.

About 1:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to the home near 28th and Glendale avenues.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said other people in the home at the time called 9-1-1. They told police they were in another room when they heard commotion and went to check it out, ultimately finding 46-year-old Lovette Gallegos in need of medical attention.

Gallegos was transported to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, Martos said.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide and searching for other people who might have been home at the time to question them about the incident.
