PHOENIX (AP) -- An Arizona woman charged with murder in the disappearance of her 5-year-old daughter in 2011 is facing another status conference on April 4.
A Maricopa County Superior Court judge set the date Monday for Jerice Hunter, who is scheduled to stand trial on Aug. 4.
Glendale police believe Jhessye Shockley was killed and her body put in a Tempe trash bin before Hunter reported the girl missing on Oct. 11, 2011.
A 96-day search at a Phoenix-area landfill in 2012 ended without finding the girl's remains.
Hunter was arrested in September 2012. She has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and child abuse.
Family members have filed a notice of claim with Child Protective Services, saying the agency was grossly negligent by returning the girl to Hunter.
