PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a man who tried to rob an adult store in Phoenix while armed with a gun.

About 6:23 p.m. Nov. 21, a man entered Paradise Adult Boutique on Osborn Road near Second Avenue. Police said he pretended to look at items while apparently waiting for other customers to exit.

The man then approached the sales counter and removed a handgun from his waistband, threatening an employee and demanding money from the register. The employee reportedly opened the register and reminded the suspect of video surveillance at the store.

The employee then pulled out a baseball bat and the robber fled the store on foot without obtaining any money, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 35 and 43 years old. He has a fair complexion and black hair, which was slicked back at the time, and is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call 480-WITNESS or 1-800-343-TIPS (toll free). Witnesses can also leave anonymous tips at
