GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A motorcyclist was taken to a Valley hospital with life-threatening injuries Friday night after a collision in Glendale, according to police.

Glendale police were called to the intersection of 61st and Olive avenues about 6 p.m.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling east on Olive Avenue when he was struck by a westbound sedan turning left onto 61st Avenue.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The elderly man driving the sedan was reportedly not injured.

It was unknown Friday night if speed or impairment were factors in the collision.
