Impaired driver fled after colliding with Corvette

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The driver of a pickup truck was arrested after he crashed into a Corvette early Monday morning, according to Molly Enright with the Tempe Police Department.

It happened just after midnight at the intersection of University Drive and Evergreen Road.

Enright said the driver of the truck, 38-year-old Jose Arturo Soria-Gonzales, was impaired. He fled the scene on foot but officers quickly located and arrested him. He admitted to being the driver of the truck.

Soria-Gonzales faces charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an injury collision.

The two people in the Corvette have minor injuries.
