GILBERT, Ariz. -- Most of us can name a teacher we remember from childhood.

In this case, a pair of young brothers will likely grow up sharing the same positive memories of a woman whom both agree is their favorite teacher, Robin Yeargain.

About a month ago, Justin and Joshua Reich wrote a letter to 3TV nominating their favorite teacher for our Silver Apple Award.

"Mrs. Yeargain was the first to come to mind," Justin said.

The well-spoken 11-year-old was in Yeargain's class two years ago at Eduprize School in Gilbert.

Now his little brother, Joshua, is in her fourth-grade class.

"She's a great teacher and very kind!" Joshua said.

Our 3TV crew was able surprise Yeargain and her class with the great news and a $500 check from Batteries Plus.

We asked Yeargain what she loves most about teaching.

Without hesitation she said, "The kids!"

Her face lit up as she explained how touching it is too see the lightbulb go on while she's teaching. She said that is why she hasn't missed a day of work in many years and why she loves coming to work every single day.
